By offering this free course, CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire, in partnership with Pure Outdoors, aims to encourage more people to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the countryside.

Speaking of the partnership, Tomo Thompson, CEO at CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire comments; “Walking is not just a physical activity; it is also a powerful tool for improving mental health. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other can have profound effects on our wellbeing as you become more conscious of your surroundings, attuned to changes and more likely to encounter wildlife. So whether you choose to walk alone or with others, in a bustling city or in the countryside, we encourage you to lace up your shoes, step outside and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells that nature provides.”

Guy Wilson, Founder of Pure Outdoor Ltd adds; “If you’re keen to get outside and enjoy walking but unsure where to start or bewildered by the array of kit on the market, then this course will help guide you. Well researched with links to useful resources and walking communities, the online course is a valuable resource for individuals seeking to explore the great outdoors on foot, providing essential knowledge and practical tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.”
