Jean Hodgkinson

Everyone at CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire is deeply saddened to learn that Jean Hodgkinson passed away at the weekend.

Jean joined the charity in the early 1960’s and worked closely with our founder, Ethel Haythornthwaite. That marked the beginning of more than 50 years of involvement with the charity. After leaving the staff, Jean remained deeply committed to protecting local landscapes and became a volunteer working on an array of issues in both Sheffield and the National Park, she was often described as a ‘tour de force’ for her campaigning work. The charity wishes to extend its heartfelt sympathies to her son and to wider family and friends.
